Bruno Navasky

I am a teacher and writer in New York City.

I worked for ten years as Director of Technology at The Children's Storefront, an independent school in Harlem, where I also taught English and ran community outreach programs. Previously I was the editor of American Poet, the journal of The Academy of American Poets, where I now serve on the board of directors. I have extensive experience as a consultant to not-for-profits in education and technology planning.

My publications include poems, reviews, and translations in The New York Times, The Paris Review, and elsewhere. I have edited three anthologies of verse, Festival in My Heart: Poems by Japanese Children (1993), Sixty Years of American Poetry (1996), and Poem in Your Pocket for Young Poets (2011). My most recent translation is How Do You Live (2021).
